Harper Collins

from Salon Trash by Sant Saëns Seine

/

lyrics

Never will oblivion,
mine or yours,
universal yawning lion,
darken my heart.

I shook down death to dance,
it moved so fast
my past forgot itself
and stood pat.

Folk returns to all
glass or otherwise despised
soccer trance sweater
rhythm unifies.

Is it our fault
we have no language
common shoveling weaknesses?
Eat stale bread again.

I wrote that with a pencil.
It only seems that pencils
are best
at erasing themselves.

They'd call me Harper Collins,
pay to bind my spine in
but I haven't
got a cent on the books.
